Hinckley Drive Extension

After the girders, diaphragms and bridge deck panels were placed, crews finished up the grouting work necessary to provide the base for a smooth ride over the structure. Once grouting was completed, paint crews applied the special paint to the steel structure to add aesthetic quality to the bridge and to protect it from the environment.

The portion of the bridge over the UPR and UTA railroad tracks were painted within the nighttime work periods coordinated with the two entities. This means that some night time work took place on the bridge for a week. Most of the painting was accomplished during daytime hours.
